This Weekend in Sydney

Hey Sydneysiders, we’ve all been there. You get to the end of the working week and realise you haven’t planned any super exciting activities to fill your weekend with.

Thanks to old mate Mike Baird’s handy work a few years back the weekends are looking a little different to what they used to. With that in mind we’ve taken a look around the city and found some activities that don’t get ruined by early lock out laws. From bottomless brunches to an evening of truffle tasting there is something for you in Sydney this weekend.

A Manly start to the Day

Kicking things off in the AM over in Manly, you’ve smashed out your morning yoga class, downed a coconut water now it’s time to refuel with a beach-side breaky at Manly Wine! Eggs benny, oats in a jar, a range of toasties plus so much more available from 7-11am.

If you’re feeling super cheeky, the Manly crew have breakfast cocktails to get your weekend off to the start it deserves. Make sure you check out their Local Artist Exhibition, vote for your favourite piece of art and you could score a $200 Manly Wine voucher!

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

If your ears pricked up when you read ‘breakfast cocktails’ then you might want to take a seat before you read on. You’ve no doubt heard of, or attended, a bottomless brunch with hours of free flowing beverages and bites to match, we’ve found two must attend brunches this weekend.

Join us on Sydney’s iconic King Street Wharf and choose from Cargo’s Get Spritzed or The Loft’s Sorbet Sessions. You’ll be treated to a choice of 4 flavours of spritz at Cargo and 3 sorbet cocktails at The Loft, each package comes matched with food options designed to share amongst your friends and lasts 2.5 hours. WINNING!

Forward this onto your crew and lock in a date to hit up either of these killer weekend brunches!
Book your spot at The Loft or Cargo.

Not your standard Bunnings sizzle

You aren’t proud of it, but rest assured you aren’t alone. You’ve turned on the TV and stumbled across a BBQ Pitmasters marathon. It’s been 10 minutes, but you can’t take your eyes off that mouth-watering selection of BBQ meats gracing the screen.

Great news, you don’t need to fly all the way to the US to treat your tastebuds to this BBQ feast, the crew at The Oxford Tavern in Surry Hills are firing up their famous Black Betty BBQ all weekend long. We’re talkin’ brisket, pulled pork, ribs and even pulled jackfruit for our vegan buddies.

All meats are available all day Saturday and Sunday until sold out so get in early!
Book early to avoid missing out.

Every day I’m trufflin’

It’s truffle season and the team at 12-Micron aren’t messing around. This is much more than your standard “truffle” aioli dipping sauce served with chips at the local pub. Think 5 courses of truffle inspired goodness from venison tartare with truffle emulsion to truffle and white chocolate mousse.

If you’re a truffle fan, this 5-course tasting menu will be like all your birthdays have come at once. Go all out and add on premium matched wines to compliment your dishes, you know you want to. Avoid disappointment and book a table today.

Buy a parma, help a Farmer

We’ve checked off breakfast, cocktails, brunches and BBQ’s surely there is something happening in Sydney this weekend that grabs your attention! We understand sometimes you just want a low key parma at the pub and this August is the best time to do exactly that. Buy a parma at any participating Australian Venue Co pub or restaurant and we’ll donate $1 from every sale to Buy a Bale, as part of their Parma for a Farmer campaign.
